In this new age of the Voice over IP such as Comcast and U-Verse, we face a new problem. These new forms of communication is not always compatible with your alarm system. We have encountered many issues with providers of these phones services. We have had some success of making the alarms communicate across them with no problems but more often than not the alarm simply does not communicate to the central station. This is in no way a sign that your alarm is outdated. We have other ways to get you reconnected back to the monitoring station by either "cellular" backup or a "IP" dialer.
A "cellular" backup is simply a way for your alarm to use the cellular network to communicate to the central station. There is no phone number assoicated with this service as the unit uses the cell towers to communicate.
A "IP" dialer is just that. This device connects your alarm system to the central station using your internet connection.
